Barbara Jaworski. Loughborough University.
Barbara Jaworski is Professor of Mathematics Education at the Mathematics Education Centre at Loughborough University where she teaches mathematics and mathematics education. Her research focuses on the teaching of mathematics and its development at both school and university levels especially involving collaboration between teachers and educators. Recent projects include developing the teaching of linear algebra and the teaching of mathematics to engineering students. She edited, for 6 years, the Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education and was President of the European Society for Research in Mathematics Education from 2005-2009. In 2011 she was invited to the Donder’s Chair at the University of Utrecht Freudenthal Institute for three months.
Carl-Henrik Fant. Chalmers University.
Carl-Henrik Fant received Ph.D. degree in mathematics at Gothenburg University in 1981 and is senior lecturer in mathematics at the department of mathematical sciences at Chalmers University of technology and Gothenburg University since 1983. His major interest is the teaching and learning of mathematics at all levels, from primary school to engineering students. He has been involved in a great number of projects aiming to improve various aspects of teaching, learning and assessing mathematics both at university level and at primary school level. Carl-Henrik has been a member of SEFI MWG steering committee for more than fifteen years and has taken part in the development of all versions of the SEFI MWG document on core curriculum for engineering mathematics.
Andres Ramos. Universidad Pontificia Comillas
Andres Ramos received the degree of Electrical Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid, Spain, in 1982 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1990. He is a Research Fellow at Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica, Madrid, Spain, and a Full Professor at Comillas School of Engineering, Madrid, Spain, where he has been the Head of the Department of Industrial Organization. He has been visiting scholar at the Center for Energy and Environmental Policy Research, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA in 2009 and at the Department of Management Science and Engineering, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, USA in 1991-92. He teaches on Operations Research, Mathematical Methods and Models for industrial engineering students. His areas of interest include the operation, planning, and economy of power systems and the application of operations research to industrial organization.
